This Oshima Tsumugi kimono is recommended for everyday wear or wearing around town.
This Oshima fabric is woven with warp and weft ikat, and features a leaf pattern woven into it.
It is woven using navy blue and black threads, and the leaf pattern is woven in the same colors, giving the kimono a very clean look.
The rich red color of the hakama is a nice accent, but be careful not to add a red obi or accessories, as this will make the outfit look old-fashioned.
We recommend pairing a pale-colored obi in a white, cream, or beige color to create a light and airy look, while pairing it with accessories in clean colors.
Even if you choose a dark colored obi such as black, navy blue, or purple, it is a good idea to choose one with a geometric pattern or a simple accent, and to match the obi-jime and obi-age with colors that are not too bright.
When you want to go for a more casual look with a half-width obi or Nagoya obi to suit the occasion, you can also have fun coordinating it with an obidome or netsuke.
There are no visible stains or dirt, and the basting threads are still attached, so it is perfectly usable as a reused item.
