This is an Oshima Tsumugi kimono that can be worn as everyday wear or around town.
This Oshima kimono is woven with warp and weft ikat and has several patterns of square patterns. Also, while Oshima Tsumugi is often seen in navy blue, this kimono is also very stylish in brown.
It is easy to match with an obi, and if you pair it with a light obi such as white or cream, it will create a soft atmosphere, while if you pair it with a dark obi such as black or purple, it will create a sharp and tightened atmosphere.
You can enjoy a wide range of obi including half-width obi, Nagoya obi, and fukuro obi.
We often hear that it is okay to choose the obijime and obiage in the same color as the kimono, but if you choose a color that matches the obi, it will create a more streamlined coordination. You can also use an obidome or netsuke to create a more stylish coordination.
The lining of the body has yellowed slightly, but there are no stains or other dirt, so it is perfectly usable as a reused item.
