Features and Condition of the Obijime/Obiage Set | New Obijime/Obiage Set
This is an obijime and obiage set to be worn with a tomesode kimono.
Both the obijime and obiage are a beautiful white (refer to the "Teihon Wa no Iro Jiten" for reference) and are made of 100% silk.
The base of the obijime is woven in a Yabane (fletching) pattern, and a diamond pattern is woven on top with bright gold thread.
Gold threads are scattered throughout, giving it a very gorgeous feel.
The obiage has a gentle curved pattern in the weave.
On top of that, there is a fan pattern. Inside the fans, there are many auspicious patterns such as Sayagata (linked swastikas) and Kikkō (tortoiseshell).
This set also includes a formal sensu (folding fan), or Suehiro, which is essential for formal Japanese attire,
and a Kamefusa (turtle tassel) that we highly recommend for mothers of the bride and groom.
The Kamefusa is an auspicious motif that adds splendor to celebratory occasions.
Thread it through the obijime and hang it on the left side.
Although it is a new old stock item, the obiage has many wrinkles from storage.
Other than that, there are no stains or dirt, and it is perfectly usable.
