This obijime is for casual obi.
It's an elegant piece woven in a single shade of soft, pale purple (usufujiiro, pale wisteria color) (refer to "Teihon Wairo Jiten" for reference).
The delicate pattern woven in an ajiro (basketweave) style is lovely.
Actually, this item has a slight defect.
However, despite being a "defect," it's not a difficult item to use.
As you might notice at a glance, while it has the width of a regular obijime, its length is short.
It's the same length as a sanbu-himo or yonbu-himo, which are used for attaching obi clips.
However, the width of this obijime is 1.6 cm, which is much wider than a sanbu-himo or yonbu-himo.
Therefore, it can only be paired with an obi clip that has a very wide base or a clip-on type obi clip.
Although it doesn't have a tag, it's an item from a long-established Edo Kumihimo (braid) maker.
The material is, of course, 100% silk, and since it's hand-braided, it's an obijime with a comfortable feel, where the impression of a firm grip remains.
It's an unused item with no noticeable stains or dirt, and is in very good condition overall.
If you understand the reason for the defect and like it, it's a very valuable item.
