This is a Goshima string obi-jime that goes well with casual obi.
It's an obi-jime, but it's not braided...let's just say it.
This is a somewhat unusual design, with seven independent strings in white, blue-green, yellow-green, purple, dark brown, ochre, and light purple.
The soft pale colors give it a colorful yet very calming impression.
It is held together only by the tassels on both sides and the three ochre-colored Odamaki pieces in the middle.
The width of this product is measured at the bundled part.
Goshima-himo is the first braided cord to be designated as an intangible cultural property in Japan.
Inheriting Edo Kumihimo techniques, it is characterized by being "easy to tie and difficult to loosen," and its vibrant colors and the unique luster of silk have captivated kimono lovers.
