Nagoya Obi Features and Condition | Used and Recycled Nagoya Obi
This Nagoya obi is recommended for semi-formal coordination.
The deep, subdued reddish-purple (Shigoku-iro) ground (refer to Teihon Wanoiro Jiten) uses silver threads, creating a very beautiful and elegant sparkle.
The patterned motifs woven throughout are botanical.
Plants and flowers are woven into pentagonal, rhombic, and square shapes.
The front part of the obi also features a botanical pattern similar to the taiko (bow) part.
A designer's mark is woven into the tare-saki (end of the obi).
This is a Nagoya-style tailored obi with a moderate crispness to the fabric.
Please coordinate it with iromuji (solid-colored kimono), komon (small-patterned kimono), tsumugi (pongee silk kimono), light tsukesage (kimono with small patterns on certain areas), etc.
There is some fabric damage from the naka-muji (center plain part) to the mae-bara (front belly part). Although this part is not visible when worn, please check the photos before purchasing.
Other than that, the item is in good overall condition with no noticeable stains or dirt, and is perfectly wearable as a recycled item.
The overall photo shows the color most accurately, but it may appear slightly different depending on your device.
