Features and Condition of Nagoya Obi | New Nagoya Obi
This is a summer/single-layer Nagoya obi by Kuriyama Workshop, perfect for casual occasions.
The slightly cream-colored white (milky white) ground and the mint green (wakataikeiro) at the ends of the sash (refer to the Teihon Nihon no Iro Jiten) create a cool and beautiful impression.
A multitude of roundly designed flowers are tightly packed together.
This obi is made using true hemp.
There are some slightly yellowed areas on the white background, but this is the natural texture inherent to natural fabric materials.

This is a point-patterned obi, with the taiko portion and belly portion dyed in a cool-toned snow wheel pattern.
We recommend coordinating it with a simple kimono to make the obi the star of the outfit.
Please enjoy it with iromuji, komon, and tsumugi kimonos.
Kuriyama Workshop was established in 1952. The founder, Kisaburo Kuriyama, was captivated by "Bingata," a traditional Okinawan stencil dyeing technique, and created a dyeing workshop called "Wazome Bingata," which fused Bingata with "Kyo-Yuzen," a representative Kyoto dyeing technique.
Kuriyama Workshop's works are called "Kuriyama Bingata."
At over 370 cm, it is a rather long Nagoya obi.
Since it is tailored in the Nagoya style, we highly recommend it for kimono-wearing beginners to try.
