Features and Condition of Nagoya Obi | Used/Recycled Nagoya Obi
This Nagoya obi is recommended for casual occasions.
This unique item features an abstract pattern created with jet-black threads on a subdued reddish-brown (fukakiake-iro, deep crimson, according to the "Teihon Wa no Iro Jiten" reference) ground.
The accent patterns include a design on the otaiko (drum knot) section that resembles flower or plant silhouettes, and a design on the front belly section that looks like the Kanji character for "hachi" (八).
It is tailored in the Matsuba style, but since the fold line from being folded in half is relatively clear, it may be difficult to use it unfolded to a wider width.
Although it is a Nagoya obi, another characteristic of this obi is its "hiyoku-jitate" (double-layered tailoring) on the otaiko section, which makes it appear like a double-drum knot.
Please enjoy coordinating it with kimonos such as iromuji (solid-color kimonos) and komon (small-patterned kimonos).
There are fold lines and wrinkles from being folded in half from the hand-end to the front belly, and also wrinkles just before the otaiko section.
Otherwise, the overall condition is good, and it is a perfectly usable recycled item.
