The workshop was established in Miyakonojo by Togo Haruaki, the third generation of Ieion Nagae, who perfected the tightening machine technique, and Nagae Akio, the inventor of Satsuma kasuri. Today, it is the only manufacturer of Satsuma kasuri.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e Usually, the kasuri (ikat) process is roughly divided into four departments: design, dyeing, ikat binding, and weaving.
